CIRCULAR WALK 4
Bonc to Bethel and Bush Road
START: SCHOOL, Y WERN
For excellent views of the mountains and the Menai Straits, the footpath from Bonc Farm to Bethel gives an opportunity for a very pleasant walk. It is possible to make it a circular walk of approximately 1 hour. Start at y Felinheli School, turn left for Bethel and immediately left for Tan y Maes. Go ahead for about 5 minutes, down a small hill and turn left to go under the by-pass and to Bonc Farm. Continue between the house and the car repair workshop and find the gate into a field. You are not able to see the next kissing gate at the other side of the field but need to head in the direction of Bethel and you will find it within a couple of minutes. After going through this next gate the footpath can be a bit soggy especially after rain and so wearing walking shoes is a good idea. With the hedge/stone wall on your left keep walking until you get to the next kissing gate. Turn right and follow the farm track to Tre Gof in Bethel. Turn left in Tre Gof and carry along the lane to Cefn Gwyn Farm. Turn left and past the Greenwood centre. Follow the lane to Bush Road, Y Felinheli under the by-pass. Just before you reach the underpass, stop to enjoy the view if the Menai Straits in front of you and The Rivals across the fields to the South West. Keep to the left when you get to Brynffynnon Road and then return to the school.
DIFFICULTY: Medium. Much along minor road so most surfaces are good.
DISTANCE: 5km
