Y Felinheli Remembrance Day Service 2020

01.11.20 REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 2020 - ONLINE COMMEMORATION

Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic, the Remembrance Day Service this year will be different from other years.
The Community Council needs to help to keep people safe and comply with regulations and restrictions whilst respecting the fallen and treating their families with sensitivity.

This year the Community Council will host an ONLINE COMMEMORATION of Remembrance Day instead of the usual event held at the Memorial Clock.
We know that many people will be disappointed, but sadly this is a decision we have had to take as the village acts to slow the spread of COVID-19.

A SHORT FILM of the Memorial Service is being created which will include the reading of the Names of the Fallen, playing of the Last Post and the national Two Minute Silence.
The program will air on Sunday 8th of November from 10.40 am - 11.15 am via:

www.felinheli.org and Facebook Y Felinheli page

It will also be made available after this time on these platforms.

We hope that people across Y Felinheli will join us online so that we can still stand together as a community and remember.
We can pause for the two minutes silence in our homes or on our doorsteps.
People who wish to visit, lay their own tributes, and pay their respects in person, will be able to do so at any time of their choosing in the days leading up to Remembrance Sunday or on the day itself.

Because no formal event has been organized there will be no access restrictions.
We ask that you observe current Government and Public Health Wales guidelines around COVID-19 and that you respect the safety of yourselves and others around the cenotaph.
The road will not be closed this year, so we remind you to be aware of traffic.
We would also like to ask that you pass on this information on to anyone who regularly attends the Remembrance Service and does not have access to social media.
